About Miniature in Tune:

Miniature in Tune is an international summer school for miniaturists, with workshops, classes and other activities regarding miniatures, taking place one week a year in July, in Tune, Denmark.

The summer school started in 2008 in Denmark as 'Miniature i Tune', and has had several Danish and other European miniaturists at the helm.

In February of 2023, an official non-profit organisation was set up to provide a legal basis for these activities, dedicated to the continuation of the summer school in Tune, Denmark:  Stichting Miniature in Tune (Foundation Miniature in Tune).  Although most activities take place in Denmark, this new non-profit organisation has its seat in the Netherlands.

Meet the Team:

  • JOSJE VEENENBOS

    CHAIRPERSON (the Netherlands)

Josje is a longtime miniaturist with an interest in art, design, and education. For more than 20 years, she has shared her miniature work and tutorials through her blogs, website, Instagram account, and her YouTube channel.

Josje took over the organisation of Miniature in Tune in 2022.

  • Marie Källberg

    SECRETARY (Sweden)

Marie has been a dedicated student at Miniature in Tune since its inception in 2008. During the important transition to the Miniature in Tune Foundation, she played a key role in organising the Summer School.

    Marie says:
“What I like about miniatures is that I can use so many different crafts and techniques. I can make things that look real even though they are small. There is always more to learn and practice.”

Marie officially joined the Miniature in Tune board as Secretary in 2023.

  • Betty van Dijk

    TREASURER (the Netherlands)

    Betty says:
“Hello! My journey into the world of miniatures began unexpectedly during an acupuncture course in London when I chose to skip the afternoon session to visit Josje at the Kensington Dollshouse Show. It was there that I fell in love with the art of miniatures.

Inspired, I decided to create a Victorian Mansion, and after crafting 19 rooms, my passion for miniatures continues to grow.

At our Summer School, I had the pleasure of taking several classes with Jens Torp, discovering a particular love for silversmithing in miniature. In this intricate art form, there is truly never a dull moment.”

Betty joined Josje in the organisation of Miniature in Tune in 2022.

    Waltraud says:
“I am from Salzburg in Austria and work in the administration of the open-air museum here. In my free time, I enjoy cycling and hiking, travelling to Scandinavia and love all kinds of creative activities.

I discovered the world of miniatures through model kits and magazines. In one of these magazines, I read an article about Miniature in Tune and was immediately hooked. That was 14 years ago, and I've been going every year since.”

Waltraud joined Miniature in Tune as our Social Media person in 2025.
